Jason Ratcliffe fired a rapid century and Surrey captain Scott Newman hit 71 not out to send Sussex Second XI crashing to their second one-day Trophy defeat in three games.
Surrey stormed to their target of 208 with more than 22 overs in hand at Sutton after Sussex disastrously lost their last five wickets for just 11.
Former Sussex leg spinner Ian Salisbury brought the innings to a sudden halt in 48.3 overs by removing debutant Brendan O'Connell for one, Jason Lewry for five and Andrew Hodd for a duck. Paul Havell was bowled by Tim Mertagh without scoring.
Sussex lost Will House off the first ball of the match by Mertagh, and Dominic Clapp fell for 23, before Jamie Carpenter (48) and Bas Zuiderent (37) shared in a third wicket stand of 94.
Carl Hopkinson, who made 45, joined Zuiderent to add 71 for the fourth wicket but Sussex collapsed after Krishna Singh was needlessly run out for 15.
Former Warwickshire batsman Ratcliffe quickly set about the Sussex attack and he and Newman shared in an opening stand of 167.
Ratcliffe set his side up for their third consecutive one day Trophy victory by blasting 18 fours and four sixes in making 112 before hoisting spinner O'Connell to deep fine leg.
