The Argus will be featured on the Hollywood-style Walk of Fame to be installed later this year.

Writer and broadcaster Simon Fanshawe has also been added to the names of the celebrities who will feature on the Walk of Fame at Brighton Marina.

The walk, which follows a route around marina, aims to rival its famous counterpart in Hollywood and will have the names of 100 celebrities and organisations connected with Brighton cast in stone.

Plaques will start to be laid in October ready for a star-studded launch on November 1 at the Rendezvous Casino at the marina.

The walk is the idea of Brighton businessman David Courtney, who got the idea during a visit to Hollywood while working with Shoreham-born singer Leo Sayer.

David is the nephew of Henry Cohen, the man behind the Brighton Marina development.

In April, readers of The Argus voted for the remaining batch of celebrities who would be featured on the first Walk of Fame to be built outside Hollywood.

David said: "I have decided to include The Argus in recognition of its 122 years' service to Sussex.

"A special award is being made to Simon Fanshawe to say thank you for his work and achievement for the Place to Be campaign."
