Brighton Bears' Errol Seaman starred for Hackney White Heat with 17 points as they opened the Hossana Summer League with an 89-85 defeat to Sutton.
Bears assistant coach Steve Swanson and guard Mike Brown take a South Coast side to the event at Crystal Palace next Friday (8pm), when they will take on Sutton.
The popular pro-am event can call upon leading British players not normally seen on these shores, such as Steve Bucknall, Yorrick Williams and the exciting Luol Deng, who is currently being courted by a host of colleges in the United States.
