Judge David Rennie has given a clear warning to professional drug dealers using Brighton and Hove as a sales ground.
He jailed two dealers for ten years each after they used a flat in Whitehawk as their base for selling crack cocaine and heroin.
Both men had previous convictions and one of them has already been deported once to Jamaica.
It will be a long time before either of these peddlers of misery and abuse is let out into society again.
There could still be plenty of other dealers in Whitehawk and other parts of the city making rich profits from their evil trade.
The lesson from these sentences is that judges will not hesitate to make the punishment fit the crime and that means long terms in prison.
