Verdi's Requiem is the most operatic of all requiems, full of hot-blooded passion and drama.
It was written at the height of the composer's powers in 1874.
It contains sweeping melodies, lush harmonies and wonderful orchestration.
If the Dies Orae doesn't make you shake with terror, nothing will.
This production is being given by the Barnet Choral Society with the Amici Chamber Orchestra and soloists Jennifer Smith, Alison Kettlewell, Philip Slane and Simon Kirkbride.
The conductor will be Colin Durrant.
The performance starts at 7.30pm. Tickets from 01273 709709 or on the door.
