Time and again, wrongly issued tickets are reported in The Argus.

As a past victim, I was interested to read that James Whittle (The Argus, June 25) was at least given an apology and told the ticket posted on his company's hearse had been cancelled immediately. Big deal.

The spokeswoman blamed "possibly a new warden who wasn't aware of the rules". Surely the blame rests firmly and squarely with the director responsible for Brighton and Hove City Council's parking department?

It becomes more clear with every report that the attendants need much more training and a probationary period with a more experienced attendant before being let loose on the public alone.

We, as residents and tax-payers of Brighton and Hove, deserve a better service from this branch of local government, with less bureaucracy and lack off accountability than is currently prevalent.

There must be enough in the coffers to afford proper training for new recruits and refresher courses for all at predetermined intervals.
