I was fascinated to read Lynn Daly's article (The Argus, June 19). I have been aware of reports over the past few years of similar, apparently inexplicable phenomena.
Attempts to explain these lights have drawn a blank, even after glass was analysed from one window where a cross appeared.
Not only light and crop circles have had people scratching their heads but statues of Jesus and Mary worldwide have also been observed to weep tears of human blood and olive oil.
You may recall the so-called Hindu milk miracle in 1995, when statues in Hindu temples appeared to drink milk. This left even hardened sceptics wondering.
Other strange events include fruit and vegetables which, when cut, reveal sacred verses and alleged angelic interventions where people are saved from near certain death or are comforted when despairing by strangers with a magical presence who suddenly disappear.
Maybe, beneath the chaos of the world, there is a new seed sprouting of which these signs are just the calling card, re-awakening our collective sense of hope and wonder.
Perhaps something wonderful is going to happen.
