The story of Dr Xavier Nalletamby (The Argus, June 26) is a sad reflection on society.
A doctor called out to an unwell patient should not be expected to have to suffer any kind of abuse while on the call.
The doctor is there to help and give advice to the patient. The need to carry personal alarms and two-way radios is very concerning and may lead to the end of night visits or home calling unaccompanied.
Doctors play a vital part in our well-being. They should be treated with respect by everybody.
