For goodness' sake, please leave The Level in Brighton alone (The Argus, June 22).
I am aged more than 70 and walk around the Level frequently, without feeling afraid, and see people of all ages doing the same thing.
Of course, I would not walk around after dark but there are many areas in Brighton and Hove where I would not do so either, which is a sad fact of life.
After the desecration of the 1987 hurricane, The Level has matured so well.
Now it is reported (also The Argus, June 22) that Councillor Heather James suggests cutting back trees and hedges and putting in more lights.
Thus the whole natural aspect of the place will have gone forever. Please, please do not let this happen.
