Children of Travellers are being given new play equipment thanks to a £2,000 charity grant.
The official travellers' site in Horsdean, Patcham, Brighton, will have a play area for the eight children who live there.
The site, opened three years ago by Brighton and Hove City Council, has 23 pitches where families can stay for up to six months.
The play area is being built using a £2,000 grant from the Scarman Trust, a charity which aims to help regenerate and develop strong communities.
The travellers made a bid for funds earlier this year with the help of the Friends, Families and Travellers support group in Brighton.
The group's Elaina Bowen said: "We're very pleased for them.
"They are one of the most disadvantaged groups in our society and they live there with no electricity so this is great."
Council traveller liaison officer Sue Forrest said there would be a site meeting so families could decide what to buy.
She said: "The site is so isolated and it's quite a way from other facilities so it's excellent there will be this area for the children."
