Congratulations to PC Neil Hersey who has been nominated as one of the country's bravest policemen.
On a daily basis police officers act beyond the call of duty but the public don't always get to hear about it.
PC Neil Hersey and a colleague were following a car in Crawley when it left the road and fell into a ditch, trapping the young people inside.
Ignoring the danger to themselves, the officers helped get the driver and passengers out and saved all their lives.
PC Hersey fought back flames and searing heat to pull the driver out and then he went back to help two teenage girls.
After rescuing one of the girls he had to go back for a third time and clamber through the flames to free the other girl.
