A man was attacked as he lay unconscious after being punched to the ground.
The 20-year-old had been talking to a group of men outside the Halifax in Langney Road, Eastbourne, in the early hours of June 30, when one of them punched him.
He blacked out but awoke to find himself badly injured.
He was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital where he had seven stitches to his upper lip and treatment for bruising.
Police would like to speak to two men in connection with the incident.
Both are white and 5ft 10in tall. One wore black trousers and had dark, short hair. The second was slim and wore a red shirt.
