The Argus should use all its power and influence, which covers the whole of this great and historic county of ours, to raise the profile of our county among those who live here and by awakening the Saxon spirit of Sussex, not only to resist the Government's continued attempts to erode our county's democratic powers by taking away some of its responsibilities in a sly and underhanded way but by giving them a damn good lesson in the principles of democracy, using all means at our disposal starting with the power of public opinion bought together by our local media.

We must understand I believe this government has misjudged the importance to us all of our counties its up to us now to show them just bow wrong they are.
