Why should the council taxpayer be expected to pay £20,000 for gates at the end of Madeira Drive, Brighton, to prevent what the police are paid to do?
The boy racers will only go somewhere else - what then? More gates?
What happened to that much-vaunted piece of police equipment, the Stinger, that is supposed to stop a speeding car safely by giving it four flat tyres when thrown in front of it?
I am sure the boyos would soon get fed up with having to buy four new tyres every time they were caught racing. The stinger, incidentally, is also paid for indirectly by the taxpayer.
Chief Constable Ken Jones, you have the gear, why don't you use it?
