Plans to demolish two houses to make way for a high-rise block have been thrown out by councillors.
An application to build a block of ten two-bedroom flats in the place of two semi-detached houses in Chesswood Road in Worthing was rejected by the development control committee of Worthing Borough Council.
Councillors refused to give planning permission because the scheme was deemed an over-development which would ruin the look of the area.
