I should like to thank the girls and fellas for the wonderful Age Concern Golden Jubilee party we enjoyed on July 1.
Everyone had worked so hard for so many weeks to make it a success and even they seemed to be having a jolly time.
Yet their hearts must have been heavy, for the driver of the Age Concern bus had found a long-term member of the lunch club dead when he called to pick him up to go to lunch that day.
The wonderful girls on the bus asked us not to say anything so as not to spoil people's enjoyment.
It must have been doubly hard when so many people commented on Eric's absence.
Again, a big thank-you to all of you.
-Mrs Betty Epps, Nightingale Lane, Burgess Hill
