Police staged a second high-visibility blitz to tackle the fear of crime.
Every Adur sector officer on duty patrolled Lancing town centre and surrounding streets on foot and bikes.
They were joined by a traffic warden and three members of Adur Watch, Adur District Council's community patrol service.
Yesterday's blitz was the second of its kind in the area.
The first was carried out in Southwick and proved a big success with locals.
Adur sector commander, Inspector Paul Amoo, said: "The aim of the operation was not necessarily to catch villains but for the police to be visible.
"We want to deal with quality-of-life issues such as anti-social behaviour and abandoned vehicles.
"The reaction to the day was wonderful. People were very pleased to see us."
Officers in high-visibility uniforms paced every street in the area visiting pubs, shops, businesses and schools from 1pm to 7.45pm.
The day was co-ordinated by the local community beat officer PC Alan Nikolson.
Four untaxed vehicles were removed from the streets and six are due to be taken away today.
