Many thanks to The Argus for the recent stories of love and devotion as portrayed in the lives of Jim and Kath Mitchell (June 28) and Albert and Annie Taylor (July 1).
What wonderful stories to read in this day and age when these values seemed to have disappeared from most people's lives.
This sort of reporting stands The Argus head and shoulders above any of today's national papers, whose pages are full of nothing but scandal.
These couples come from generations who went through by far the worst periods of the past century, which instilled in them the true values of love, faith and devotion.
The photos and stories of Jim and Kath and Albert and Annie should be pinned up in every senior school and college and the lessons of these values should be drummed into every pupil.
Love, faith and devotion, three simple words but what a wonderful world it could be if we all abided by them. God bless them.
