Local businesses which want to apply for Government money have been given a boost by the appointment of a new grants adviser.
Finance expert Paul Jordan has joined Brighton and Hove City Council as a specialist adviser who will help companies bid for extra cash.
The move should give businesses the chance to get their hands on money from the Single Regeneration Budget, made available to the city until March next year, as well as Enterprise Grants.
Mr Jordan will work side by side with businesses and business training and service providers in order to get as many local companies a grant as possible, the council said.
Councillor Don Turner, vice-chairman of the culture, regeneration and housing committee, said:
"This is an opportunity for every eligible business to look at their goals and involve the grants adviser in the planning process in order to make the most of regional selective assistance while the grants are still available."
Mr Jordan can be contacted on 01273 292734.
