I wonder if all those Nimby enthusiasts determined to keep everybody else out are aware the very erection of the houses in which they live began the impairment of the "idyllic" neighbourhood around which they are trying to build a barrier?

It was much more idyllic before their homes were put there.

Are they aware that by trying to keep everybody else out they are delaying the construction of the residences so badly needed, especially for our essential workers?

Are they further aware that this unwarranted delay is boosting the explosion in property prices - including their own - thus making it impossible for young people to find a suitable residence?

Are they also aware that rocketing property prices mean more and more people are being raised into the death duties category?

The Treasury must be rubbing its hands together in eager anticipation.
