A West Sussex council has been given a £220,000 cash boost to help tackle household waste.
Waste management bosses at Horsham District Council will share the money among other councils in West Sussex to fund recycling projects.
The cash comes as recycling trials start in the district.
Councillor Robert Nye, Cabinet member for the environment, said: "It is vitally important we start an informed debate about household rubbish and the issues associated with its collection and disposal.
"Recycling has a vital role to play in reducing the amounts of waste taken to landfill. This grant will see the start of an on-going project to raise awareness of the difficult issues surrounding waste."
The grant comes from a Government pot of £42 million to fund recycling and waste awareness projects in the UK over two years.
