An agency has been appointed to spread the word on new media in Sussex.

Wired Sussex and the South-East Media Network (SEMN)

have handed over the public relations and publicity side of their operations to one of the fastest-growing consultancies in the country.

Midnight Communications, founded in Brighton in 1995 by Caraline Browne, has been appointed by both organisations.

Wired Sussex is a business support group designed to help the vibrant new media cluster in Sussex. It is also part of the wider SEMN, a network that provides business advice for the South-East's media industries.

Midnight's remit is to assist Wired Sussex and SEMN to maintain and develop business growth in their sectors in the region, consolidating their role in business consultancy, support and networking opportunities.

The campaign, which started this month, was kicked-off with a workshop on message development and positioning, to plan for key announcements over the coming year.

Midnight board director Vicki Hughes will manage the account team, with support from Tor Goldfield and Zoe Stone. Niki Strange will manage the account at Wired Sussex.

Executive director Emily Aitken said: "Midnight has a wealth of experience within the public relations industry promoting new, and traditional, media companies.

"It also understands and already works with a number of businesses in Sussex and the South-East.

"We are committed to ensuring businesses get the most out of Wired Sussex and confident Midnight will help us communicate that message effectively."
