A police motorcyclist was recovering today after being hurt in an accident.
Kent traffic officer PC Diana Leslie, 35, was carrying out rider training when she had to swerve to avoid a car and left the road.
The car, an L-reg white Ford Fiesta driven by a woman, failed to stop following the incident on the A271 at Tellis Coppice, near Battle, yesterday.
Witnesses said the driver sped off towards Battle without stopping.
Maidstone-based PC Leslie was taken to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings for treatment to head, neck and back injuries.
Police have appealed to the driver or witnesses to call 01424 456085.
