Vandals have cast the future of an electronics company and 50 jobs into doubt.
Bosses at Bognor-based Schurter say the Swiss owners were becoming increasingly worried about damage at the plant on the Durban Road industrial estate.
A senior executive said talks due later this year could decide if the company stays in the town or not.
The blame has been placed on the cost of repairing damage regularly caused to windows and the soaring cost of insurance premiums.
A spokeswoman for the company said no decisions had been taken and added: "We want to stay in Bognor but the company is worried about vandalism on the estate."
A police spokesman said: "We are aware of problems on the estate and this is the subject of a controlled and progressive police response."
