A motorcyclist was killed instantly when his machine crashed head-on with a coach carrying foreign students.
The 41-year-old from Sussex was travelling east with three other motorcyclists when the collision happened in Marley Lane, Battle.
The coach was travelling to Gatwick Airport. None of the students were injured and they continued their journey on another coach.
Meanwhile, another motorcyclist was killed an hour earlier on a nearby stretch of road when his bike hit a tree.
The 36-year-old from Kent was travelling southbound on the A21 at Silverhill, Hurst Green, near Robertsbridge, when his bike left the road.
Neither victim has yet been named by Sussex Police.
