It is difficult to reconcile the comments of Brighton and Hove City Council leader Ken Bodfish to the effect that the Fatboy Slim concert was a success, especially in the light of the chaos that accompanied the evening.
One death, another fighting for life, ambulances gridlocked, 100 people sustaining crush injuries and people plucked from the sea. I suppose that counts as a success so long as the pubs were busy.
I note Norman Cook plans to release further funds to aid the clean-up. The cosmetic problem can be quickly addressed - rubbish on view one moment can be bagged-up the next.
But let's just wait for the reports over the next few weeks of increased cases of cut feet from all the broken glass laying in wait, buried just under the pebbles. There are tons of it lurking there.
