What a wonderful event enjoyed by so many.

Enormous thanks from a 50-something to Norman for putting on such a great event.

But who was the killjoy senior police officer who decided his helicopter had to hover for more than an hour, destroying the enjoyment of many of those in the less-crowded parts of the beach and those on boats due to its appalling noise?

If the purpose of the helicopter was to view the crowd, surely extra land-base CCTV could have been set up instead, at a far lower cost and with much less disruption.

Maybe the appalling noise of this helicopter could have contributed to the crush nearer the stage as people tried to get away from its noise.

Perhaps, also, in future if we had repeater screens and sound systems along the beach, fewer people would need to get nearer the stage.
