I feel upset by the completely negative headlines about the weekend's beach party.

All credit to the 250,000 people who remained good-humoured throughout.

Where did you find those complaining people? Everyone I have spoken to had a great time.

The main point to be made is that no one could have foreseen such a huge number would converge on the city.

Obviously the same thing cannot happen again and I feel sure Norman Cook would not want it to.

However, all credit to him for thinking enough of our city to have a go at giving us a big, big summer party. I am in my 60s.
