How much I enjoyed Fatboy Slim's free beach party last Saturday.

My wife and I managed to edge our way to almost half-a-mile from the stage and just made out a blurry big-screen image of the superstar DJ himself.

Not since Jimmy Saville invented the mobile disco last century has a man playing other people's records been held in such high regard.

In general, the atmosphere was very friendly - partly because of the "loved-up" clubbing generation that has embraced Fatboy as its master of ceremonies, and partly because of the copious amounts of alcohol consumed all day in the heat.
