A council has welcomed plans for a footbridge at a Lancing accident blackspot which has claimed the lives of 11 children.
The Highways Agency has submitted plans to Adur District Council for the bridge over the A27, near Boundstone College, Sompting.
Councillors did not raise any objections to the application at the planning committee meeting.
They said tree planting and landscaping should be carried out to improve the impact of the bridge.
