The Royal Navy's newest warship, HMS Shoreham, has arrived at its namesake port for a commissioning ceremony.
The minehunter, launched in April, will officially join the Navy's fleet in Shoreham Harbour tomorrow.
The ceremony will be part of Shoreham Port Authority's open day.
Among the 250 guests will be 80-year-old Bob Bodle, veteran of numerous Second World War battleships and destroyers, and a holder of the British Empire Medal.
Mr Bodle, of Ingram Crescent, Hove, was invited to join the commissioning celebrations after his daughter, Linda, contacted The Argus.
HMS Shoreham, a Sandown-Class minesweeper, will undertake its first deployment in January to The Gulf.
