I support John Fowler's view that Fatboy Slim party was a great night (Letters, July 18). I managed to enjoy it with a large group of friends with no trouble at all.
My entire group was made to empty all glass bottles into plastic containers before we even left the house.
I may be classed as one of the "irresponsible youths" but I still care about where I live. As for Mrs Willard's concern that people were hanging about the morning after and why didn't they have jobs - it was a Sunday.
I also agree with Dizzy Dazzler's point that advertising a free major event in a location that is a 45-minute train journey from London without proper planning was ludicrous.
I would love to see the event next year and would happily attend with no worries as long as Brighton and Hove City Council makes sure it is properly organised.
If the council knew (and it was pretty obvious) there were going to be more people than last year, why were there only 50 policemen on duty?
If the expected 60,000 people had been attending, that would still have been only one police officer for every 1,200 party-goers. So, here's to next year. Plan it, organise it and keep it quiet. See you there.
