Justice has truly been done in the case of a drug dynasty which made large sums of money out of heroin.
Members of the Compton family have already been jailed for drugs trafficking.
Now a judge has ordered them to give up £1.3 million which means they must face selling property and assets bought with drugs money or stay in prison longer.
This is a victory against drug dealers whose activities lead to misery and even death in Brighton and Hove.
It is only right part of the money they surrender will be used by police to increase the war against hard drugs.
Police took a long time to investigate the family finances under the Drugs Trafficking Act.
But the result was worthwhile and will send a chilling message to other dealers that they will lose their wealth as well as their freedom if they are convicted.
