Lee Poulton scored an unbeaten 80 as Alfriston beat Withyham to maintain top spot in division one of the Cuckmere Valley League.
Dick Sorrell chipped in with 34 as Alfriston posted a total of 186-6 and the visitors were then dismissed for 126 with Tim Hurst and Jeremy Bowers taking three wickets apiece.
Blackboys moved into second place despite making hard work of chasing a Laughton total of 113 all out. Jonathan Eastoe followed bowling figures of 3-32 by hitting 28 not out as Blackboys clinched victory with six wickets down.
They moved above Bells Yew Green who were surprisingly beaten at lowly Firle.
Richard Gravett (50) and Richard Climpson (36) helped Firle to 145-7 from their 40 overs. In reply, Dominic Bowen hit 63 and Andy Brookes 43 but Bells Yew Green fell just short on 142-6 at the close.
East Dean moved off the bottom after a 34-run success away to Selmeston. Ian Sands (58 not out) and Matt Bulkeley (47) helped East Dean set a total of 149-4 and Graham Primett then took 3-17 as Selmeston were dismissed for 115.
In division two, three teams are locked on 26 points at the top. Denton went top after beating previous leaders Burwash by five wickets.
Nutley are up to fourth after beating Preston Village by 46 runs. Lord Steve Bassam took a hat-trick for Preston Village in figures of 5-23.
