Eastbourne police have issued a Photofit picture of a man who rifled an elderly woman's hotel bedroom as she slept.
The 89-year-old victim woke at the Carlton Hotel in Marine Parade to find the intruder in her bedroom at 12.30am.
She challenged the man, who seemed drunk and had a foreign accent, before he fled with her purse containing a small amount of cash.
The hotel night porter was called and he escorted the intruder from the hotel without realising what had happened.
Now police have released a description and Photofit of the man, who was last seen walking towards the Redoubt area of Eastbourne last Friday.
He was eastern European, aged 40 to 50, about 5ft 8in and of medium build. He was balding and wore black jeans and a short-sleeve shirt with a motif on the breast pocket.
Anyone with information is asked to call Eastbourne police on 0845 6070999, or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555111.
