In answer to Peter E H Bailey (Letters, July 18), yes, many of us do find Gordon Dean's supporting Hollywood actors of the Thirties and Forties very interesting.
They certainly were not lesser-known to our generation.
They were instantly recognisable but not too many of us remembered their names.
The letters are interesting indeed and though on Hollywood supporting actors, Mr Dean, to my knowledge, has mentioned many Brits - Roland Young, Eric Blore, Arthur Treacher, E E Clive and Sir C Aubrey Smith to name a few - all of whom had worked extensively in this country on stage and screen before going to that American film Mecca at the heart of the industry.
Mr Dean has also mentioned Victor McLaglan (South Africa), Nigel Bruce (Mexico) and Joseph Calleia (Malta) so he has not left out much so far.
