Reading that our council tax could rise by 14 per cent to an extra £100 or so a year because of overspending and bad management, I immediately thought of the BBC's financial guru and economics expert Alvin Hall.
I wonder if he could assist Brighton and Hove City Council to understand its limitations and live within its means?
It would make an interesting television programme just to see how some of the financial messes actually come about and the reasoning behind some of the projects the council supports.
