The Mussorgsky Choir is a major part of the St Petersburg State Opera and one of the finest vocal ensembles in Russia.
Director Vladimir Stolpovskikh brings the choir to Brighton along with star tenor Igor Larionov to sing Rachmaninov's Vespers and excerpts from Tchaikovsky's The Divine Liturgy Of St John Chrysotom, The choir was formed in 1934 and tours extensively both at home and abroad.
It is particularly noted for its informed and authentic performances of the Russian Orthodox liturgical repertoire.
