Clymping's Michael Blackall turned in a barnstorming display to silence team-mates who said his bowling had slowed down.
Burly Blackall took 3-10 to help his team to a 92-run win at bottom club Eastergate.
The display prompted skipper Benn Challen to compare him to England star Andrew Flintoff and made a mockery of team-mate Kim Dean's observations about his pace.
Challen said: "One of the players told Michael he thought he had slowed down during our cup match on Friday and that really fired him up the next day.
"He bowled extremely quickly and he is really strong."
Graeme Blann top scored for Clymping with 61 while Eastergate's Mark Leach took 5-83 as the visitors declared on 202-8.
In reply last term's runners-up were dismissed for 110 and skipper Jim Berry believes his side's impending relegation may not be a bad thing.
He said: "The club will be relegated and have to re-build. We have to do a lot of work at committee level to get it right. Too many players have left and haven't been replaced."
Champions Findon have regained their place at the top from Pagham and lead by 28 points following their 90-run win at home to Southwick.
The home side won the toss and batted first, scoring 213-4 with John Cox making 40.

The home side replied with 101-2 after Hill were all out for 99.
Joe Owen continues to propel Broadwater to the title in Division Two after his record-breaking performance steered the leaders to their eighth victory.
Owen took 4-41 against Petworth Park to take his wicket tally for the season to 40, breaking the club record for most league scalps in a season set by Mike Elborough (39) in 1987.
Richard Iago (69 not out) and Bob Reynolds (42) helped Broadwater to 202-2 and Park were all out for 106 in reply. Tony Alcott took 5-15 to support Owen's contribution.
Crawley suffered a surprise home defeat to lowly Henfield and are 43 points adrift of Broadwater in second.
Chasing the visitors' total of 165, Crawley were dismissed for 81 as Aussie Matt Gorton ripped through the home team's batsmen to finish with 7-27. Aamer Riaz took 4-55 for Crawley.
Henfield remain second from bottom and are 32 points behind Barns Green in seventh.
Skipper Kevin Thorns said: "It was a fantastic win. Matt bowled very well and so did Matt Nead and Simon Helm. We just had one of those days when everything stuck and we held all our catches.
"It was a win we had been expecting for a while but it was a surprise to dismiss them for 81.
"We are fairly confident that we can still get out of danger and we have all the players back now to help."
Ansty were held to a draw at home by Goring. The home team won the toss and elected to bat, amassing 207-3 with Simon Parsons (77 not out), Dave Croydon (51) and Chris Nutter (40) among the runs.
