Arundel believe the destination of the Invitation League division one championship rests in their hands.
The Waterwoods Plain club still have to play both Pagham and leaders Findon in their final four matches and they have not given up hope of sneaking second spot themselves.
Ifield were Arundel's latest victims after they enjoyed a four-wicket win at home to the third-placed team.
The hosts were bowled out for 139, Dick Whitcomb claiming 4-28. Arundel were 140-6 in reply.
Opener Ryan Chitty, who scored 18, said: "I think we have a good chance of coming second, that would be great and an improvement on last year.
"We have a difficult run-in with Clymping on the last day but we should be looking to win all four games and if we do that it will be hard to see Pagham winning the league."
Chitty spent the winter in Australia working on his game which he says was beneficial.
He added: "I feel more confident when I go out into the middle but the wickets haven't made for big scores this season."
Ifield's wicket takers included Anthony Wise, Tom Allen and Dale Rachow.
Batsman Simon Hickey said: "We made them work hard for the runs but our batting was very disappointing. We have played quite good cricket this season but our batting really has been awful."
