Murder squad detectives today released a description of a man they want to trace in connection with a fatal stabbing in St Leonards.
Andrew Wynd, 37, died a week after being stabbed twice in the back in an unprovoked attack as he walked home from a pub.
The man police want to trace is white, of slim build, in his late 20s to early 30s, 5ft 9in with short, brown hair.
He was wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt and was seen running away just after the attack in London Road at about 10.30pm on Sunday, July 21.
Mr Wynd, of London Road, St Leonards, was taken to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings where he later died.
Detective Chief Inspector John Levett, heading the investigation, said: "It is now a week after the attack and by now people will know who is responsible.
"We would encourage those people to contact us. It would appear this was a completely unprovoked attack on a man walking home from having a quiet drink at a local pub."
Anyone with information should call the Operation Cannon inquiry room on 0845 6070999 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
