A West Sussex park has been left with no baby swings following an attack by vandals.
The swings in Sompting Recreation Ground at Sompting, near Lancing, were left mangled and useless after louts smashed them up.
The damage will cost Adur District Council more than £500.
This latest act of vandalism came just after previously-damaged swings had been replaced.
Adur Watch manager Clive Bramble said: "We had urgently replaced the first lot of damaged swings so the children of Sompting could enjoy the playground during the summer holidays.
"Unfortunately, the severity and cost of the latest damage and the time delay in supplying new parts means the site is unlikely to be fully operational in the near future.
"It should be remembered that although the children lose out directly from this unnecessary damage, it is all of us that end up having to pay the costs, either directly or via increased insurance cover.
"We and the police are trying to do our bit but it needs all of us to work together."
