Brighton-based model Jordan must have felt shattered when she found her baby son, Harvey, had been born blind.
It is natural for parents to feel guilty they were some way to blame for the disability.
But that is not so and Jordan should take heart from the story of seven-year-old Victoria Gray from Shoreham.
She was also born without sight and, as The Argus reveals today, her family were upset at the time.
Victoria has the sunniest of personalities and does not let her blindness stop her doing much at all.
She is leading a full life already and looks forward to doing even more when she becomes an adult. With that sort of attitude, she can hardly fail.
When the shock subsides Jordan should stop feeling sorry or guilty and see if she too can rear a happy, ambitious child.
