Rain prevented any play on the second day of the 2nd XI Championship match between Sussex and Surrey at Banstead.
The decision was made following an early lunch as heavy overnight rain left standing water on the outfield and affected an adjoining wicket on the square.
There had been hopes of a start being made later in the afternoon but Banstead is not a quick drying ground and further rain fell after the day's play was abandoned.
Surrey were expected to declare today on their commanding first innings score of 464-4 to help force a positive result.

Premier Division title rivals Three Bridges and Hastings Priory contribute three players apiece to the line-up.
Action will be delayed until tomorrow in the event of bad weather.
