It is unfortunate the Brighton-up Club has to close (The Argus, July 24) but this is not directly due to any cut in funding by the NHS or the city council.
An existing grant of £1,000 is still being given. Given the many pressures for grants, we cannot increase our contribution without penalising others who rely on our help.
