Brighton and Hove can breathe a sigh of relief now Sean Donoher is safely behind bars again.
He caused terror prowling around the city streets, staging a series of armed robberies at newsagents and off-licences.
The Argus offered a £1,000 reward for information leading to his conviction and will now gladly be paying up.
What people did not know, because of a news blackout, was that five years ago Donoher, a former Big Issue seller, stabbed a homeless busker to death in a row over a piece of cheese.
A crack cocaine and heroin addict, he would stop at nothing to fuel his habit.
He put knives to the throats of victims and forced them to the ground.
Donoher served an absurdly short sentence for his earlier manslaughter before being released on licence.
This time he should be locked up for good. He is far too dangerous to be allowed to roam the streets again.
