A beauty spot on the Downs which was littered with rubbish has been restored to its former glory.
Beggars Bush, near Steyning, had attracted fly-tippers who dumped trailerloads of waste there.
Today Adur District Council, West Sussex County Council, Sussex Downs Conservation Board, and Penfolds building contractors, finished measures to prevent vehicles with trailers and vans getting into the lower car park.
Mounds of earth have been built up, a process called bunding. This stops heavy vehicles being driven in.
New signs and seating have been installed and improvements have been made to the car park entrance.
A district council spokeswoman said: "Local people will be able to enjoy this lovely picnic spot once again. We've worked together on this scheme in an attempt to stop fly-tippers dumping on the Downs."
