News that the Government is taking the precaution of buying anti-radiation sickness medication for all of us is welcome - the dangers posed by terrorism shouldn't be ignored.
The protection being purchased shows we face a greater threat from our nuclear power stations being attacked than from a nuclear bomb.
This adds to the unacceptable cost of the nuclear power industry - not only are there the threats from terrorism or an accident but we leave an unacceptable legacy for future generations in terms of radioactive waste.
This is madness when the technology exists, in commercial form, to produce plentiful wave, tidal, wind and solar energy.
The Government is moving in that direction but more needs to be done.
