Little Jordan Powell is set to get his dream trip to Disneyworld thanks to the generosity of readers of The Argus.
More than £1,000 has been donated to the eight-year-old who suffers from a brain tumour and has gone blind in one eye.
Jordan's family hope to take the youngster, from St Nicholas Road, Portslade, to see his favourite character Donald Duck.
Just days after The Argus told the youngster's story, an anonymous benefactor sent a £500 cheque to the appeal. Yesterday a further £500 was received.
The grand total now stands at £1,150.
Colin Powell, Jordan's father, said: "I can't believe the response has been so quick.
"I'd like to say a really big thank you to The Argus and to all the people who've sent in money."
One cheque for £10 included a note which read: "We wish we were able to do more but hope at least it will help Jordan to have his wish."
Jordan was diagnosed with the tumour when he was six.
To raise more cash for Jordan's Mickey Mouse fund, Elvis impersonator Ivor Potter will be appearing as Suspiciously Elvis at the American Express club on October 12.
For tickets, call Dick Claridge on 01273 275753. Anyone who wishes to contribute to Jordan's fund should send cheques, made out to Jordan Powell, c/o The Argus, Argus House, Crowhurst Road, Hollingbury, Brighton, BN1 8AR.
