A teenager who went on holiday to celebrate passing her exams had £384,000 of cocaine hidden in her suitcase, a court heard.
Ruth Barnett, 18, of Radnor Road, Luton, was stopped by Customs officers at Gatwick as she stepped off a flight from Antigua on Thursday.
Crawley Magistrates Court heard how she said her parents had paid for her to go on holiday to celebrate passing her exams.
When officers searched her suitcase they found the bottom was false and 6.2kg of cocaine was hidden under it.
No plea was entered and Barnett was held in custody to appear before Horsham magistrates on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, a Jamaican woman has admitted importing cocaine into the UK.
Charmaine Jones, 32, was stopped by Customs at Gatwick on Thursday as she stepped off a flight from Jamaica.
Crawley magistrates heard when officers searched her suitcase they found 0.5kg of cocaine. Jones was held in custody and the case was sent to Croydon Crown Court for sentencing.
